Getting married in Austria?U.S. citizens may enter into marriage in Austria. The procedure is, however, somewhat complex. For this reason, U.S. citizens contemplating marriage in Austria should thouroughly prepare all required documents. If you plan to get married in Austria, you will need a Marriage Affidavit/Certificate of No Impediment. It may be executed before a notary public in the United States (in this case it will require a Hague apostille) or Marriage Affidavit/Certificate of No Impediment (external link, U.S. Embassy in Austria) executed before a Consular Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Vienna.
