New! Notaries public commissioned for the first time in the State of Texas on or after January 1, 2016, and notaries public renewing their commissions on or after that date must have their notary ID number on their seal of office.
Identifying numbers for Texas notaries
To avoid delay in processing, be sure to look over your documents before submitting them for Texas apostilles to verify if the notary stamp contains an identifying number (for notaries commissioned for the first time in the State of Texas on or after January 1, 2016, and notaries public renewing their commissions on or after that date).
