The following documents qualify for Georgia apostilles:
documents notarized by a GA Notary Public (IMPORTANT! A Georgia notary public is prohibited from making certified copies of publicly recordable documents such as deeds, mortgages, and other instruments dealing with real estate, vital records, birth certificates, marriage records, divorce decrees, powers of attorney, probated wills, student records or transcripts from public schools, colleges or universities, military discharges, Uniform Commercial Code documents, court pleadings, documents marked “filed” or “recorded”, most documents retained by a government office, Certificates of Naturalization, Certificates of Citizenship, Declarations of Intention to Become a Citizen, foreign passports certified copies of Georgia Vital Records documents issued by Georgia courts Corporate documents on file with the Georgia Secretary of State Corporations Division. Note: These must be certified copies issued by the current Secretary of State.

Publicly recorded documents must be official certified copies with the signature and seal of the issuing Georgia state or county official. These documents are never notarized.
Georgia notarized documents (examples: powers of attorney, affidavits, corporate documents, translations, diplomas or school transcripts, etc.): the notary public MUST complete a notarial certificate (i.e. notary language block that identifies the type of notarial act performed) and sign by hand in ink, exactly the name indicated on the notary’s commission.
